The early morning fire that destroyed the Riverside Roadhouse in Caseville is believed to have started in the back of the building in the kitchen. Caseville Fire Chief Ben Willenberg told us that an insurance investigator was coming to the scene to look into the cause. Firemen were called out about 1:40 this morning, and sought help from several area departments. The owner had closed the business about 11:30pm because business was slow, and no one was inside when the fire started. Fire crews have been coming back to the site to take care of hot spots that flare up. They used an excavator to knock down some of the upper walls for safety. The river, next to the Roadhouse is closed with containment booms to hold any debris and run off from fighting the fire. Young's Environmental, a clean up company was coming to the scene to help with the clean up. M-25 was closed for a time during the fire fighting effort. There were no injuries fighting the fire, and firemen were assisted by the Road Commission, D.P.W., Sheriffs Department, utility crews and County Emergency Management Director Randy Miller. Some pictures and a video of the fire fighting effort can be found in the written story on Thumb Net Dot Net.
