Former Ubly School Nurse Pleads Guilty to Gross Indecency with Student (Huron County)

Former school nurse and ag-program assistant at Ubly Community Schools, 32 year old Camay Rose Booms, has recently pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an inappropriate physical relationship with a student last year.

Booms admitted to one felony count of gross indecency and one highcourt misdemeanor count of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct. As part of her plea deal, Booms original charge of third degree criminal sexual conduct was dropped, avoiding the potential 15 year sentence it carried.

Suspended after the first incident was reported to school admin., Booms had resigned the following day. Booms, now facing up to five years in prison and registration as a sex offender, is scheduled for sentencing at 9:00am, Monday, March 24th. She is currently free on a $3,500 bond.
