When an Owendale Village Council member unexpectedly resigned during a recent special hour-long meeting, it created a domino of positions being shifted.
At that meeting, village Treasurer Manuel Thies resigned.
Because of his resignation, the village President Walter Howard appointed Clerk Randall Howard as the new treasurer, and he appointed Trustee Sherry Fritz as the village clerk to replace Howard in that position.
The village president administered the oath of office to Howard and Fritz.
Then, at last month's meeting, positions changed again with Howard resigning as treasurer and Fritz resigning as clerk.
Because Lori Limberger was appointed as treasurer, Randall Howard was appointed back to his former position as clerk. And, Sherry Fritz was reappointed to her former position as trustee to finish out the remainder of her term which ends Dec. 31.
When the shifting of positions was over, the council approved paying $1,000 a month for the treasurer.
