Croswell and Lexington will have contested races Nov. 3

During the Tuesday, Nov. 3, general election, there will only be races in one city and one township on the ballot in Sanilac County.
In the city of Croswell, there will be a battle for council seats.
There are four non-partisan candidates who are running for three council seats. The candidates are Cindy Fockler, Donald Maury, Denise Sloan, and Pat Schott. The three top vote-getters will win the seats.
In the village of Lexington, there is a contested race for village president and for trustee. Positions are each non-partisan.
Those who are running for village president are James J. Gesock and Kristen Kaatz.
And, the candidates vying for three trustee seats are Larry J. Adams, Michael Fulton, Dennis Klaas, Kathy D. Parraghi, and Taryn Strausser. The three who receive the most votes will secure the seats.
Those are the candidates whose names will be on the ballot. However, write-in candidates have until 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23 to file with the county clerk's office.
On Election Day, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
