Sanilac Commissioners increase pay for county department heads

During the last county meeting, Sanilac County Commissioners approved wage increases.
Commissioners authorize a 1.75 percent wage increase for elected officials effective July 1.
The bump up in pay increased the following wages: the treasurer to $60,953, the drain commissioner to $55,590, the prosecutor to $100,056, the register of deeds to $58,407, the clerk $61,862, and sheriff to $76,905.
In other money matters, the commissioners authorized updating the 911 recording system by accepting the bid by Word system Inc., for $8,717.00. Paying for the upgrade will come from the 911 millage fund account.
And, approved the purchase Pro Comm, Inc., four sets of vehicle equipment to outfit the 2020 Ford police interceptor vehicles at a cost of $9,295 per vehicle for a total cost not to exceed $37,181.
Funds for the purchase will come out of the sheriff department's vehicle equipment fund and from commissary funds.
- Commissioners also adopted the 2020 taxable value report of $1,674,168,297 for the county.
