A couple of presentations were given to the Elkton Village Council this week at it's regular meeting.   Monica Galloway of the Save-MI-City organization was on hand with a Power Point presentation on the funds local municipalities have lost in revenue sharing from the state, as funds have been diverted to balance the state's budget for more than a decade. She showed how this came about and on the need to get they system working the way it should. The council also heard from Jamie Peasley of the auditing firm of Anderson, Tuckey, Bernhart and Doran. She presented the results of the audit for the past fiscal year that ended on February 28th. The audit was clean with no major issues. The council also approved allowing the Downtown Development Authority to continue working on the purchase of the old Bud's Bar property, which is now a grassy lot. The DDA plans to turn it into a small park downtown. The council also approved a 35 hundred dollar contract with Spicer Group for an update on the Village Master Plan, which hasn't been updated for a dozen years.
