All Huron County Public Beaches tested this week by the Huron County Health Department for e-coli levels remain open to swimming as none approached the threshold for action. About a third of the beaches tested showed no e-coli detected at all. Wagener County Park and Bird Creek County Park had the highest readings at 178.5 and 111.9 colonies of e-coli in the composite sample per 100 milliliters of water. The closing threshold is 300. The Health Department will continue testing 13 public beaches throughout the Summer months.
