After a beautiful 4th of July weekend our clear skies seemed to have been tainted by an unusual haze. Not a natural phenomena, the haze is the result of Canadian wildfires in parts of Alberta. Winds continue to blow the smoke South over the Great Lakes region, and while we may see brief periods of clearing skies, any winds coming in from the North are sure to carry the smoke over the state again. Officials in region of the wildfires report that several of the fires have been brought under control while one major fire remains un-contained. There is no word yet on when the fires are expected to be contained or when exactly the smoke will disapate from the region.
