Although the Wisner Township Board approved zoning ordinances in mid 2019, the changes haven't worked out quite like it was planned.
Because of that, the planning commission will host a public hearing 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, to review some of the issues that have come to light with the new regulations.
Some of the issues that are expected to be reviewed and revised is the location of pools and the setbacks.
The new rule calls for pools to be placed in the back of a residence, but some homes don't have back yards. A possible solution is to allow pools to be placed at the side of a residence.
On the matter of setbacks, the new ordinance requiring setbacks of 40 feet from a property line has proven to be excessive.
So a shorter setback is expected to be set.
If the planning commission does make ordinance changes, they have to be forward to the board to be approved or not.
The meeting will be at the Wisner Township Hall, 7894 M-25, Akron.
In other matters, the Bay County Water Authority Department, which provides municipal water to the township, is lowering the fee to $15 from $25, but the price of water is gong up 13 cents per unit.
