The Great Lakes region received above normal precipitation in April which will keep lake levels above their long term averages into the near future. The U.S. Army Corp. (core) of Engineering said preliminary estimates find precipitation during the month of April was well above average for the Great Lakes basin. Lake Huron received 62 percent above normal average in April, which also affected the water supply into the lake as the Great Lakes system is in it seasonal rise.
