The Caseville City Council agreed to allow up to 2 medical marijuana facilities in town at Monday's meeting. Clerk Jamie Learman said it would be store front retail facilities, but would only be for medical marijuana, and NOT recreational. The council also approved a 5 thousand dollar application fee - annually for medical marijuana facilities in town.
In other action, they amended the fireworks ordinance to come into compliance with changes in state law on when they can be lit. They approved allowing MDOT Tourist Directional Signs, which would allow a proposal for such signs to direct people to what the city has to offer to be installed sometime in the future.
The council approved a contract with APM Mosquito Control for 2020 at a cost of 28,350 dollars, the same as 2019, they approved a 600 dollar donation to the Huron County Sheriffs Office for drug enforcement and set the annual water rates for Pigeon and Caseville Township at 4 dollars per thousand gallons.
