North Branch Celebrates Christmas All Day Saturday

The North Branch community will celebrate Christmas this weekend. The North Branch Area Business Association (NBABA) will host the "North Branch Holiday Parade" 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7. In order to be in the parade, the parade entry must be decorated with holiday lights with a Christmas theme, and the only live Santa Claus allowed in the parade will be the NBABA official entry. The parade line-up starts at 5 p.m. between Co-op Elevator and Parson Farms on the South side of Railroad Street. Floats have to be in lined by 5:30 p.m. to be judged. And, in order to be in the parade entries must be made before Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Village Office, 4018 Huron Street or be faxed to 810-688-4521 or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Some of the other events include:children activities at 3:30 p.m., a tree lighting, a community sing-along and children's drawing after the parade. And, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the North Branch Township Library will transform into a gingerbread house and will also feature family-friendly crafts. At 3:30 p.m., Santa's house at Francis Baldwin Park will be open, and some downtown businesses will feature children's activities. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available at the Masonic Hall, and the Fostoria Strings and Singers will provide music in the downtown area. At 4 p.m., horse-drawn carriage rides will take guests on a tour of the downtown.
