A 32 year old Bad Axe woman pleaded guilty to absconding bond - habitual offender third offence when she appeared Monday in Huron COunty Circuit Court. Morgan Marie Burhans as part of a plea agreement would have no further habitual offender enhancement, and she must testify against codefendants in the charge she absconded bond for. She could receive up to 8 years on the charge. Sentencing was set for April12 and her bond was continued. She then appeared for sentencing on the controlled substance charges she failed to appear for. Back on September 4th she pleaded to delivery of Meth, Possession of Meth and Possession of Fentanyl. On the delivery of Meth charge she received 7 to 40 years in prison. For Possession of Meth she received 2 to 20 years and for possession of Fentanyl she received 1 1/2 to 8 years in prison. Circuit Judge Gerald Prill described this as one of those "Poison Cases" involving drugs, and told Burhans she was "Peddling Poison".
