Two Drug Busts This Past Week in Sanilac County

The Sanilac County Drug Task Force has been busy this past week with drug busts. Friday, January 5th at 1:30 pm, a search warrant was served by the Drug Task Force at a home in the 3500 block of Brush Street in Deckerville. Information was being obtained since August for this search warrant from tips by citizens and an investigation into the sales of prescription pills and marijuana from the residence. The search warrant turned up prescription medication, marijuana, packaging materials, scales, drug paraphernalia, and evidence of illegal prescription medication sales. Two people, 45-year-old Michelle Long and 17-year-old Robert Long, were taken into custody. Michelle was booked and released for maintaining a drug house and Robert was booked and released for possession of marijuana. Both have been arraigned in the 73rd-2nd District Court. Felony charges for the sales of prescription medications will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office after lab results are determined. The Sanilac County Sheriff's Uniform Division, Deckerville Police, and the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office K-9 assisted at the scene.

Saturday, January 6tharound 10:30 pm, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of M-46 and M-53 in Lamotte Township. The two occupants in the vehicle, 29-year-old Cory James Parker and 32-year-old Stanley Collier Bass, were found to be in possession of Schedule II drugs and heroin use paraphernalia. The two Flint residents were arrested and arraigned on felony possession of a controlled substance charges. The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office K-9 also assisted at the scene.
