Ann Hepfer of Huron and Tuscola Health Departments issued update on Covid-19

Ann Hepfer, Health officer for the Huron and Tuscola County health departments issued an update Sunday on Covid-19. Tuscola County reported 26 cases last week and a weekly averaged positivity rate of 5.5%. Huron County reported 13 cases and 6.5 % test positivity weekly rate. The Saginaw Region weekly average positive rate is at 3.3%.
Huron and Tuscola County Health Departments continue to vaccinate eligible individuals based on vaccine supply. This week we will continue to focus on the 65 and up age groups and the addition of vaccinating Child Caring Centers, and protective services workers. They are not able to move ahead to another phase at this time. She added it can take up to 6-8 weeks for eligible individuals to be contacted for their covid vaccinations.
