As the third day of the Adam Mullin trial began Thursday in Huron County Circuit Court, the prosecution was still presenting its case. On Wednesday, the victim wrapped up her testimony with cross examination, the State Attorney General prosecutor had a doctor testify, and then Michigan State Police Detective Reece began his testimony, which will continue on Thursday. When the prosecutors finish presenting their case, Mullin's defense team will have their opportunity to call witnesses for the defense. The trial was scheduled for 3 days, but seems likely to go to a fourth, as after the defense presents their case to jurors, there would still have to be final arguments from both sides to the jury, along with jury instructions before deliberations could begin. Mullin is charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, obstruction of justice, misconduct while in office, assaulting a police officer causing injury and aggravated domestic assault for an incident on February 10th at the Bad Axe Post of Michigan State Police in which his female partner on the force was severely injured in an altercation between the two of them.
