The Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port Laker School Board Meeting only lasted 22 minutes, but a lot of details were finalized.

District Funds, Legal Counsel, Labor Consultant, School Election Coordination, and Official Meeting Notices were among the preliminary details finalized.

Mike Klosowski, for another year, was approved as Chief Financial Officer, and the Bills were paid. Among those were a General Fund Bill of $59,674.24. 2018 Debt Service Fund of $500, and Food Service Bills of $120.

Caitlin Stone-Webber attended the meeting, and recommended Krista Cornai to assist the SAIL Academy Program, which Stone-Webber directs. Stone-Webber and Cornai had worked well together in their first meeting, and the hire was approved.

Rachel Smith, a 3rd Grade Teacher, has resigned, with regret. Randy Damm, a Bus Driver, also resigned, with Regret.

The board also approved a third section of Third Grade, and to hire a new teacher to fill that role. Currently, 55 Third Graders are enrolled at Laker Schools.

The meeting dates were approved for the 3rd Monday of the Month, at 6:00 PM.

The next Laker Board Meeting will take place August 16th at 6:00 PM.
