A 35 year old Bay City motorcyclist was injured and flown to a Genesee County Hospital by a Life-Net Helicopter with life-threatening injuries after the motorcycle collided with a pick up truck. Frankenmuth Police were called out at 2:32 Sunday afternoon to the intersection of M-83 and Roedel Rd. Upon arrival, officers along with witnesses performed life sustaining measures on the driver of the motorcycle until Mobil Medical Response arrived. Initial investigation indicates the motorcycle was travelling northbound on M-83 approaching Roedel Rd. The pickup truck towing a farm implement was heading southbound on M-83 and stopped on the roadway yielding to a northbound vehicle then attempted to make a left-hand turn after a vehicle has passed. During this turn, the driver failed to see the northbound motorcycle colliding with it head on in the intersection. The pickup truck was driven by a 64-year-old Frankenmuth man who was not injured. Neither alcohol or speed appear to be a factor in the accident. The Saginaw County Accident Investigation Team was activated and will be investigating.
