Spring can't be that far off when boater safety courses are coming up in the Thumb. The Tuscola County Sheriffs department Marine Division is running the classes at the Richville Conservation Club April 22nd. The class runs from 9am until 2pm, with a lunch and both are free.   Those kids who are 14 or older are required to have a Boater Safety Certificate to legally operate a personal water craft in Michigan waters. Pre-registration is required and adults are also welcome. The class is Michigan Department of Natural Resources approved. A phone number to register is 989-673-8161 ext 2238, or check the Tuscola County Sheriffs Department FaceBook page.
