Gas prices in Michigan are down 6 cents compared to a week ago. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.04 per gallon for regular unleaded. The price is 12 cents less than this time last month and 55 cents less than this time last year. Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, for the Auto Club Group said "Low demand will likely help pump prices to continue their descent as summer transitions into autumn," The most expensive gas price average was in Marquette at $2.26 per gallon, while the least expensive was in Grand Rapids $1.88. Compared to last week, Metro Detroit's average daily gas price decreased to its current average of $2.15 per gallon, about 3 cents less than last week and about 55 cents less than this same time last year.
