Emergency personnel were out Monday night, but this time they were training for an emergency. Bad Axe Fire Chief John Hunt Jr. told us they were at J. W. Hunt OTC of Bad Axe starting about 6pm. The training was multi phased. They had to extricate victims from a vehicle, while using hazmat proticals for a simulated acid spill. The victims were treated on scene and were also then taken to McLaren Thumb Region of Bad Axe where the training continued through the decontamination process. Also participating were fire fighters from Sigel and Harbor Beach Fire deprtments., ambulance personnel and Huron County Sheriffs deputies. They were on the scene for 2 1/2 hours, then afterwards they had debriefing about the drill, followed by clean up.
