Today is Patriot Day. This day was commemorated with some special events to honor and remember all those who were killed or injured in the attacks of September 11, 2001. There was a memorial ceremony in Lansing. State Representative Phil Green, for the 84th District, was joined by Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson, and by Tuscola County Emergency Manager Steve Anderson. "I honor and thank you for your selfless work in keeping our communities safe, and all the first responders whose efforts protect our lives and communities," Green said. The terrorist attacks 18 years ago killed 2,996 people, injured over 6,000 others; and since then many others who helped with those incidentsm, have died of related cancer and respiratory diseases or have lingering health issues. Representative Phil Green, for the 84th District, center, Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson, left, and Tuscola County Emergency Manager Steve Anderson, right, were at Lansing's 9/11 memorial.
