The Elkton Village Council approved seeking bids on two parcels of farm land it owns at Tuesday's regular meeting. They have 33 acres near the village lagoon, in which they will seek a 3 year lease. There is also 16 1/2 acres at the Motoplex property where they would like a one year bid. Bid specs are available at the village hall, and are due back by 4pm on October 8th, for consideration that evening at the next council meeting. The board discussed an offer from the Wesleyan Church which is offering a gazebo on its property to the village. They are considering putting it in Veterans park, but the matter was turned over to the DPW Committee for further investigation. The Council also read a draft ordinance concerning a social media policy for village officials in their official capacity and also on appropriate responses. The draft will be sent to the village attorney for review and could come up for a vote at next months meeting.
